Private William Braine (b. March, 1815, Oakhill, Somerset, England; d. April 3, 1846), Royal Marines, Western Division, Woolrich, HMS ''Erebus''.
the grave of Private William Braine was largely intact.[29] When he was exhumed, it was apparent that he was delayed in being interred. Even though severely emaciated, his coffin was too narrow, so his arms were folded in the back to fit his shoulders into the coffin. Braine also had a broken tooth,[30] and an old severe concussion on the forehead.[30] A large copper hole punched plaque adorned his coffin lid.[32]
