Joseph MADDOCKS marriage 1883 (General)

Richard Joseph Bellamy Maddocks, the grandson of Joseph Maddocks and Mary Bellamy, is my great grandfather. He was the son of Joseph & Sarah (Elliott) and he and his 3 brothers and 2 sisters were all born at Westbury-on-Severn. He was not the first in his family with a long-winded name. He had a brother, born in 1841, with the same name who died about 3 years of age. Richard lived at Walmore Hill and was a farm labourer like his father and brothers and worked at Chaxhill House Estate, Westbury-on-Severn He had a large family of 14 Children
The Maddocks family have quite a long history which includes John Maddock Mayor of Gloucester during the English Civil War
