My great great grandfather Rowland Oakley was born in Newland in 1801.

I have this guy on my tree - he is not related but was grandfather to another Roland Oakley (son of Peter) who married into my Pewtner family. Unfortunately he died in 1848, buried 15 Nov 1848 in Newland, so does not appear on subsequent, more useful, censuses. Have been in touch with Oakley descendants on Genes Reunited, none of which have his place of birth as yet.

He married Susanna Clapham, but this is the transcription so you might not have found it!
