John EVANS/Mary HUGHES MarriageTidenham 1786 (General)

My ancestor Charlotte EVANS was baptised in Tidenham in 1800. In the IGI I have found her and her siblings all baptised Tidenham between 1787 and 1810 with parents John EVANS and Mary. There is also an IGI marriage entry for John EVANS and Mary HUGHES in Tidenham on 9 Nov 1786. However I can't find the marriage on the FoD transcripts even though the marriages appear to be covered for this period. Can anyone verify for me that the IGI entry is correct or if the marriage was overlooked for some reason on the transcripts.

There appears to be a gap from Nov 1780 to Mar 1790 in the transcribed Tidenham marriage records Entries 175 - 234 may be missing from the source used for the transcription (?)

Missing Tidenham Marriages 1780-1790

Thanks. That may explain it. Any idea where the information in the IGI may have been obtained. It appears to be from an LDS member rather than having a marriage register batch number. Do you know why there is a gap in the FoD transcript?

I have just looked at the original register and Slowhands is right there is a 10 year gap between 1780 & 1790 although the pages are numbered consecutively. The IGI entry must have been taken from the Bishops Transcripts.

In the transcription project we have now almost completed all the pre-1812 Gloucestershire parishes in the FoD, and are just starting the process of checking the transcripts against both the PRs and BTs so that we can add any missing additional information or missing years, so these marriages will be picked up in due course.
