I would be very grateful if anyone could help me with information relation to Oakwood Mill between 1650 and 1800 specifically owners ect.

A mill built c. 1434 on Horwell hill (later Bream's Meend) by Richard Lawrence of Bream (fn. 72) was demolished before 1623. (fn. 73) It probably stood on a tributary, since disappeared, of Oakwood brook. (fn. 74) The latter brook powered Oakwood Mill, a corn mill recorded from 1520 in a detached part of Newland
Oakwood Mill, which used steam power by 1885, closed c. 1900

My family ran the Grist Mill at Mellingriffith, Glamorganshire until 1740.
I believe they moved to Bream/Clearwell to run a similar operation when the mill at Mellingriffith was converted to produce copper.
During the 18th and 19th century the family established themselves in Clearwell Ellwood and Bream.
I am trying to establish if they ran a similar operation in the Clearwell Bream Ellwood Whitecliff or Redbrook area between 1740 and 1820, to that of the mill at Mellingriffith.
Any help would be appreciated.

I hope this will help with your research
William James son of James (Jemme) James born c1796 is living there on the 1851 census but i beleve he was living there as early as 1822. He died in 1875 and it was left to his daughter Sarah who seven years earlier in 1868 married Samuel Musgrove born 1842 he then took up the milling until he turned it into an ale house but when i`m not sure. HE died in 1909 but who took over after idon`t know, but i beleive it continued as a ale house up until the 1950`s or even 60`s

Thanks for information. I am still seeking information regarding the Oakwood mill between 1740 and 1800.
Does any have any info relating to this period?
