Eliza Aston (nee Whittington) (General)
Eliza Whittington married Thomas Aston on 24 May 1863 at St Briavels. Her parents were James Whittington and Mary Ann (nee George). They had a total of 12 children.
In 1871 Thomas Aston had travelled to Lancashire for work as a Collier, living with his aunt and uncle - Thomas Watts and Mary (nee Hampton). On the census he stated he was married. So I expected Eliza to still be living in The Forest waiting either for his return or to follow him.
Her parents, James and Mary Ann, were living at Coalway Lane End in 1861 so I wondered if she was staying with them.
BUT - you've guessed it - the whole family has disappeared.
Can anyone help me find them?

no sighting yet - I wonder if she had died by 1871 despite Thomas claiming to be married

Thank you slowhands I knew you wouldn't desert me. I think you and Paul may be right. I've just had a look at the inquest for Thomas Aston and Edward Aston of Coalway Lane End was his father.
Thanks again

I am looking for any family connected to James Whittington who emigrated to New Zealand in 1864 or any other Whittington's from St Braviels Gloucestershire.
James Snr was my g,g,g, grandfather and through this site have managed to get a list of family members for gggg and ggggg grandparents so that is great.
