my grandmother informed me of her husband's grandfather.he was a captain in the king's navy.after the war he was awarded some land in the forest where he became a cider merchant.one of his daughters married mr.cooper who was an engineer in mining,he bought the property and found coal there. the family dobbins then moved to darfield in yorkshire.
my grandfather samuel died in 1965 at the age of 79 years.
do you have any record of the name dobbins?

thanks, ron.
