Does anyone know anything about Hester Morgan born @1870? She appears in Newcastle on her marriage certificate in 1889 which states that she was born in Lydbrook and her father signs as William Morgan.

Ester Ann KEDDIE (nee MORGAN) 1871 Lydbrook
Many thanks slow hands. I hadn't seen the 1871 Census return or "Ester Ann's" baptismal record before. The Census return is obviously full of errors. Do you think that ANN MORGAN is in fact ELIZA ANN as the ELIZA named is obviously Esther Morgan?
In 1876 Eliza Ann married William Morgan, the oldest son of William Morgan (preacher) and Tryphena. They subsequently moved to South Yorkshire and later to Co.Durham. William's name, I believe, appears on Hester Morgan's marriage certificate where he claims to be her father and in 1901 he registers her husband Thomas Keddie's death as "father in law" living in Stanley and working as a miner.
When "Ester Ann" was born William was married to "Fanny". Her children were William and Edith. An Edith Morgan appears as a witness Hester's marriage. Could you help me to find out anything about these people?
Thanks again.

William & Tryphena MORGAN Lydbrook
Yes, this is the family that I have been pursuing. Hester was my great grandmother. I still have her card sent for my first birthday. She had a terrible life according to the certificates I have sent for. I still think that the jury is out whether William Morgan was her father. He certainly appears to have been there for her during all her troubles.
Olive is a real surprise but william and Edith are as I expected. I wonder when William married Frances as we must now call her not Fanny? I have wondered whether William and Eliza Ann were cousins but cannot prove the link. They married on Christmas Day. Would this have been because it was a guaranteed holiday?
For interest,to my knowledge William's last child was stillborn in 1897. It killed Eliza.
Many thanks again.

a tangled web indeed !
Is Olive an Oliver ?
Was he born before William and Francis married ?
Is s/he an Olive Jones/Smith/etc ( or another surname ?)

Many thanks Slow Hands for all your help. I have now got stuck on John Morgan's wife Hannah. Which is the more likely Witherstone(1803) or Marshall(1801)? These marriages seem early considering the younger John's baptism in 1820.
I have noticed the forename Milson seems to appear regularly in the Forest. I have an uncle with this name and haven't heard of it in any other context. Is it a name that comes from the Forest?
