John WATKINS 1810 Upton Bishop Hereford

by admin ⌂, Forest of Dean, Friday, March 06, 2009, 00:49 (5814 days ago) @ slowhands

Chief Inspector Slowhands

I do believe because of your thorough investigation and compelling evidence which you have put forward that you have found the illusive John Watkins and that we are very close indeed of putting the "Closed Case" rubber stamp on the paper work.

Thanks David

I'll take credit for putting him forward as a Strawman, but without the transcribers efforts there is no-way the body of evidence would have come together.

at this rate you'll be tied into the Vaughan/Marfell/Thompson/Gagg thread too

John WATKINS 1810 Upton Bishop Hereford

Hi David & Slowhands

Following the recent posting Ann Pewtner b. 1801 has led me back to this thread, which I have followed as there were people mentioned who are in my Family Tree.

In particular I was interested in the Elizabeth Meek 1712 mentioned, with a possible baptism 25 Jan 1712 to Jeremiah Meek & Ann.

I have a Jeremiah (Jeremy) Meek baptised 17th August 1679 - note this is not on the F o D web site, but I can supply an image of the BT page if you wish. I believe Jeremiah Meek married Ann Rudge 30 Nov 1704 and I further believe this is the parents of Elizabeth Meek baptised 1712.

Jermiah was the son of John Meek & Elinor, who have featured on a number of threads in this forum.

I would be interested in your opinion as If I am right David it makes you my 9th cousin !!

Jim

Jim

I need to get all this latest Watkins stuff into my family tree program so I can see it all clearer. Yes, I agree it does all appear to gel together what you have mentioned.

I knew we would both discover a cousin connection between us somewhere, it was just a matter of what number it it was going to be.

Please send me the image of the BT you have.

Have a Good Day!
Dave

John WATKINS 1810 Upton Bishop Hereford - second baptism

by admin ⌂, Forest of Dean, Wednesday, April 22, 2009, 07:43 (5767 days ago) @ slowhands

As well as the 1813 baptism of John WATKINS we now have through the addition of the last batch of Upton Bishop baptisms another John WATKINS with the same parents baptised in 1810. The year 1810 for the baptism ties in better with census details.

I believe the two baptisms are for the same person. Elizabeth WATKINS who has the same parents as John was baptised on the same day as John in 1813 at Upton Bishop. Did the Vicar give John a second dose of the holly water to make sure!
