Hi, Colin, Many thanks for recent info re: George (1714). Sorry I was barking up the wrong tree in trying to prove that George Meek (1802) was the same one as the George you were seeking - but all the meeks had large families and all seemed to choose the same christian names, so it is inevitable that there is confusion!
Have just noticed that you and other people are making enqiries about John Meek (1660), who married Elenor. Have no information except that John Meek died in 1695.
I have found the Gloucester Archive a very useful source of information, but, unfortunately, living in Yorkshire, I only manage to get there once per year.
This is pure curiosity, but was your grandfather the George Williams of Ruardean Hill, who was a pillar of the Baptist Church?
