BLACKFORD MILL in the manor of Eldersfield, a substantial brick building with a
good pool behind it, is still working though in a dry summer thereis insufficient water
The wheel can be seen under an archway as you welk up the passage between the
house and the mill.

During the winter of 1940-41 a stray German bomb fell in the front garden
and caused extensive damage to the house, but this has been repaired
and the mill was quite unscathed
