Rock Cottages, Drybrook (General)

by hjpreest, Saturday, March 28, 2009, 09:11 (5792 days ago)

Can anyone help me with the location of Rock Cottages, Drybrook please? Do they still exist?

I know my father in law, Richard George Preest and several siblings were born in Little Drybrook between 1909 and 1914. His birth certificate just gives Drybrook as the place of birth. However I have recently found his baptism on the parish records for Bream in 1909 and the residence is shown as Rock Cottages, Drybrook.

Although we have visited the hamlet in the past, we don't know which property the family occupied. We are hoping to visit the area again this summer and would be grateful for any information.

Hi Heather

Just Googled that address and there is a Rock Cottage, Morse Road, Drybrook GL17 9AH. It appears to be between Dean Cottage and The Cottage.

Little Drybrook is on the road from Sling to Bream beyond the Montague Inn (now closed) and appears a more likely venue.
