TURNER, BRAWN, JONES, WOOLS, LAYTON of Hereford (General)

by MaureenMB1, Friday, April 03, 2009, 03:03 (5787 days ago)

Hi, I've been researching me Hereford ancestors for many years and would welcome any advice/help from anyone who is also descended from the following:-

Thomas BRAWNE b.1637 Sandhurst wed Anne ??

son Thomas BRAWNE b.1680 Sandhurst wed Jane ??

son William BRAWN b.1700 Sandhurst wed Sarah ??

son Thomas BRAWN b.1731 Sandhurst wed Dinah/Dinnah ??

son William BRAWN b.1765 Sandhurst wed Susannah WOOLS b.1775 Elmore

son Daniel BRAWN b.1805 Sandhurst wed Mary JONES b.1797 Hereford Walford

son James BRAWN b.1835 Hereford St John wed Hannah TURNER b.1832 Hereford Wellington

James and Hannah married on 7 Dec 1861 @ St Martin, Hereford

I have very little information on Hannah TURNER apart from her father's name being James TURNER and would welcome any help in researching back from Hannah herself.

Also, does any forum member have connections with the above ladies who married into the BRAWNE family or with the WOOLS or JONES families.

Sorry to ask so much considering I've only just registered.

In return I would gladly help with information regarding the life of James BRAWN and Hannah TURNER who moved to Liverpool between after the 1871 census in Hereford and before 1873.

Maureen

As the name of our website indicates we specialise in the Forest of Dean. We cover parishes which border with the Forest of Dean but not the whole area of the county of Herefordshire.

You are far more likely to get a response to your query if you posted your message in a forum that covers Herefordshire. I suggest you join the RootsWeb Herefordshire Mailing List

James ANSELL BRAWN, 1836 Hereford

by MaureenMB1, Saturday, April 04, 2009, 02:17 (5786 days ago) @ slowhands

Hi again, wow, many thanks for all your hard work. I have the census records, but thanks again, and started looking for the TURNER side a couple of days ago. I think that 1841 census is a very good match and also possibly the 1851 as Elizabeth and Ann could very well be relatives of my Hannah.

Regardins the marriage - a possiblity to, thanks.

In one census they recorded my g.g.grandfather James Brawn as James Anadem Brawn?? I have no idea where they got that from though. Not sure at all about James Ansell Brawn either though he could be a cousin.

I've copied all your info across into my spreadsheet and will take a closer look later. kind regards, Maureen
