Which is the best passenger listing site to use when searching for FOD relatives who went to Sydney , Australia in the mid - 1800s ? My relatives are not on this sites' database .

I use the passenger lists on findmypast but they only go from 1890-1960. Maybe Ancestry has earlier ones.

The only clues that I have are from what my mother told me - that some of her fathers'( James Cole b1873 E.Dean ) uncles emigrated to Sydney , and ended up starting up or working in a coal-hauliers on the harbour , called " Coles " .
