Polly Nelmes in Ruardean (General)

Some years ago my mother told me that my grandfather's sister Polly Allaway married someone whose surname was Nelmes and they lived in Ruardean.
I have since discovered that my grandfather's sister Mary Jane Allaway (who was born in 1877 in Ruardean) married Alfred Nelmes in 1910 (registered in Ross).
Does anyone know if this could be the Polly who my mother remembered? Does anyone know or remember this family?
