Polly Nelmes in Ruardean (General)
My aunt Mary Evelyn Nelmes had the nickname "Polly" all her life. Her grandparents, Charles Nelmes and Mary Ann (Drew) Nelmes, lived in the same household, Springfield, Massachusetts, USA. Charles was born in Shapridge, emigrated about 1870. Mary Ann Drew was from Herefordshire. I think Mary Ann may also have been nicknamed "Polly".
