I have spoken to Gordon Steer and he remembers James Corne with affection he always had a smile and liked a joke and was a big part of his young life.He knew him as Jim and says he used to work at Chepstow docks, and when he was out of work there he would work for his Dad the vicar at Tidenham. He believes he was a close friend of his fathers as he seemed to be there a lot and even drove the car when the family went on outings and holidays. He remembers Jim being good on ladders picking fruit in the orchard at the vicarage.Gordon thinks that Jim was also a member of his dads mens club at Boughspring on the chase.Gordon and family left the vicarage at Tidenham Christmas 1930 and rembers Jim going to Birmingham to look at their new house .He does not remmeber about him after that.
I hope this is of interest to you
Kind Regards
Andrew Charles Pemberton Foster

Grandson of Rev Reginald Pemberton Steer
