William LONG living in 1841 census in Churcham he was a cold breaker age 35 years
I'm sure its COLT breaker ( horse trainer) - he is living on a farm in Churcham.
It is possible he was not from the area and you may have to throw a wider net to find father Robert and William' baptism

Sorry but your base note did not say you had all this :-)
I often find that multiple sources can help narrow the search.
In this case the age in the 1841 is subject to a rounding error of 5 years.
Williams Burial suggests 1811/2 for his birth.
Hence by looking for a William later than the 1806 suggested in 1841 may narrow your search for Robert.
You cannot assume that William /Robert are from Aston Ingham unless you have some more evidence that you have not shared here. William was married in Aston Ingham yes, and he may have been living there at the time.

The 1841 Churcham census says - William Long - colt breaker - born in this country
so he was born in Glouc.
he was married in Aston Ingham - herfordshire to Caroline Markey the daughter of the blacksmith there.
I am assuming he being a colt breaker he would have me here thought her fahters business - blackmithing.
He may have been born in Bridwood as he lived there at one time but I have exhausted all avenues. I did find a Robert long who was a Carpenter but no baptisim for a son William.
Thankyou for your trouble
I guess I will have to get back to the drawing board

The 1841 Churcham census says - William Long - colt breaker - born in this country
so he was born in Glouc.
but thats only one source, it is not unusual to find that the "in county" box was ticked and later find another record that conflicts with this; esp. true when a county border parish is involved. Imagine the borders of Herefordshire, Gloucestershire and Worcestershire in this area.
just keep an open mind :-)

The trouble is there is no other source
I have tried in vain for many years to find a William son of Robert LONG born between 1805 - 1810 in all the surrounding counties
The only time I could find this man was in the 1841 census, his marraige certificate, and his death notice.
Before 1841 he cannot be found anywhere - Willian LONG the colt breaker nor his dad Robert LONG the Carpenter
Thank you
Jill
