Phillip Powell, b abt 1822, Woolaston (General)

Hmm, Phillip Powell would have only been in early 20's in 1844 so I can't imagine he would have been a widower. The occupation's don't really fit either - as he was working as an Excavator 1861 so I assume that has something to do with mining.

I did another search on this website and found a marriage between Phillip Powell and Mary Pritchard 1838 ... although this one would be a little early unless the age of Philip Powell on cesus is wrong and he was actually older.
Mary was from Wyeson Parish, Monmouth, and Philip Powell was living in Newnham.

Another possibility is that he was married in Wales.

I still can't locate any baptism record though.
