I am wondering if Charlotte is showing on the Census in 1851 under another surname.

She appears to have been born in 1841/42, if her mother died / father remarried she probably would be under BARNARD,
if father died / mother remarried then she could be under any surname, or,
if she was born out of wedlock she may not have been christened a BARNARD,

or the family may be non-conformist and failled to register the birth, and there is not Anglican baptism ( the marriage was in the Congregational church)

or, other scenario s :-)
