Stratford and Hyett (General)

by mylyne, Thursday, July 30, 2009, 15:27 (5669 days ago)

William and Ferdinando Stratford - surveyors. Ferdinado died in Tiddenham in April 1766. I have a copy of his will and Mrs Elizabeth Hyett,' a shop keeper of Mitcheldean' is executrix. He had come to Tiddenham a few months earlier after contracting 'fever and ague' whilst surveying the River Chelmer in Essex, this is believed to be the cause of his death.Mrs Hyett attended him during his illness. His brother William also became ill but survived and went to Tiddenham to make enquiries
Who was Elizabeth Hyett and did she marry William as I have her will that states she was Elizabeth Stratford formerly Hyett ? I cannot find a marriage.
Any info would be appreciated

? This record of the marriage on Ancestry, London, England, Clandestine Marriages - 21 March 1747

The edge of the record is quite darkā€¦.

William STRATFORD of Guyton - the next line starts in the dark photocopying area, Batchellor to Elizabeth HYETT - the next line starts in the dark photocopying area, Widow **of the same

---

????

Looks like Elizabeth was a Widow, the word Spinster is not written down

Assume the Will of Elizabeth STRATFORD, formerly Elizabeth HYETT is the one on National Archives i.e. 7 March 1775, Widow of Bedminster, Somerset

----

Ferdinando STRATFORD - copy of letter written by his brother Willm re his death

? as Ferinando was staying at Elizabeth HYETT's - was Elizabeth HYETT's first husband, some relation of this lady
