Can anyone shed any light as to where/what Vailbrook House, Longhope might have been?

Velthouse Longhope ?

I'm aware of the Velthouse near Longhope Brook, heading south from Longhope towards Blaisdon :-

The Velthouse, an outlying farmstead to the north, was recorded from 1591; (fn. 27) it was rebuilt in brick in the 19th century.

What context does Vailbrook appear ?

Vailbrook House, Longhope ?

by tentoes @, Sunday, August 02, 2009, 13:58 (5666 days ago) @ slowhands

Thanks for your help - the reason I am asking is because it is mentioned in the baptism record for my grandmother Annie Henderson. She is a bit of a mystery to me as I have always been told she was an orphan from Bristol but have hit many brickwalls with this one. I know she married Frederick Lewis Marshall.

I was wondering if Vailbrook house could have been an institution ???

Any ideas ?

Annie Henderson 1892 (ish) / Wallbrook House, Longhope(?)

Thanks your a star!

I certainly think you could be right - Wallbrook House does sound more likely.

I'm not sure where Annie Henderson fits in here though, however interestingly enough I did find a Annie Bevan born Dec 1891 in the BMD. Food for thought perhaps and maybe worth having a look at.
