WILLIAM HOOK TAYNTON BORN 1811 (General)
Im looking for a William Hook who was born in Taynton/Newent in 1811 and married Elizabeth Young? (the first childSarah Ann was born in 1839 so I have bbeen looking for a marriage prior to that - but I cant find the birth of William or the marriage. Could you suggest where I look.
Ive looked through the parish records on this site which I found really useful for pickingup the strays that I couldnt trace, but am stuck on the above.
Have enjoyed using the site - its been very useful and easy to navigate.

I saw your query about William Hook and wonder if you have any idea about this:
on the 1861 Census showing William and his family living at Pleasant Hill, Taynton, there shows also a Henry Palor, Boarder, aged 1 year.
Would you have any idea as to why he is included. I believe he could be my (illegitimate) great great grandfather, who I know was born in Newent in 1860.
