Strip & At It & Trafalgar gales (General)

My father was born in the forest at a place called Trafalgar in 1929 his name is Alfred Waltham son of Caleb Charles Waltham.
I understand that my Dad lived in a house along with six or seven siblings that he recalled, was at strip & at it, this I thought was something that he had made up, could anyone help me with any information of the community that was at this place and when was it abandoned.
I recall going into the woods at Brierly when I was very young with my Dad and there was nothing to see only a house that he called the Puzzle House.
I recall my Dad telling me that my Grandad worked at a pit close to the house and that he used to go to a pub called The Swan.
If anyone could shed light onto this I would greatly appreciate it and could then pass the information onto my siblings.
