does anyone have any information regarding a murder in the forest connected with theses names family oral history is of a grandfather,a wooden nailer, murdered and robbed at soudley ponds on his way home from working in the forest

I thought his name was gwatkin but as i have had no luck with it i wonder if it could be the other side beddis or wickenden it will be before 1860 a cousin of my father, a george walker,deceased who lived in the forest mentioned it to my father in the 1950s but i have drawn a complete blank.

There were Gwatkin's and Wickenden's in Soudley.
