I have just had a quick look on ancestry.co.uk for Sidney, and found the following birth, death and marriage indices and refs., which may be your grandpa.

If your grandma Rivers is still alive, suggest you start having a chat to her about what you are doing and gently get her reminiscing about past times, so that you can note down family events and dates, if possible.
