Lydbrook Cemetery (General)
Hello,
Apologies in advance if my request is a stooopid one. I'm live in New Zealand so have no other way of finding out the answers to my questions. So here goes:
I have learned from the parish records here that I have a number of ancestors lying at rest in the Lydbrook cemetery. If anyone is close by to this cemetery and it's not too much trouble, I would love to know what inscriptions are on the gravestones. I'm assuming the cemetery is small and does not have 1,000's of people buried there.
The people I am looking for are my 3 x Gt Gran Marina Robinson nee Drew d 1892 aged 63. Her daughter in law Mary Ann Robinson nee Woolley d 1902 aged 43 and Mary Ann's 19 day old son Henry Wilson Robinson d 1894.
Any information would be appreciated. If I win the $17 million lotto draw tonight I will come over and search for myself.
Cheers
Diane

I did look but found no Robinsons, but then I have only found one grave stone where I know my family are buried, many couldn't afford them. I e-mailed you about photos.
(I did find the gravestone of River Jordan, a stone shaped like a coffin, this relates to a previous post, but you lot read everything don't you. Fred)

Thank you everyone for your kindness and help. The family were coal miners which I suppose would put them in the poor category. How sad though, not to be able to afford a headstone for your loved ones.
I didn't expect the graves to be in good condition as there is no one left to care for them now but I was hoping to find the 1902 one.
Anyone who would like to send me photos please feel free to do so. I would love to see where the ancestors came from and I promise one day to visit.
Thanks again for all your effort and help.
Cheers

Thank you everyone for all your help with this so far. Now I have a big favour to ask of you lovely photographers out there.
While no one can find the Robinson graves for me, another kind member has sent me a survey of Lydbrook Church and churchyard. Listed on it is my 3 x Gt Grandmother's headstone. Her name is Eleanor Woolley d 24 July 1879 and she is buried with her daughter Ameila Edwards and Amelia's baby daughter Emily.
If anyone is close by with a camera I would love a photograph. I can send you a copy of the survey to make your search for the headstone simple.
Thanks again your help is most appreicated.
Cheers

I would be delighted to do so. I am just checking with the owner that he is happy for me to do this.
If anyone wants anything from New Zealand, please ask and I'll do what I can to help.
