I am trying to find the death/burial of Jane. She is shown as a 60 year-old widow on the 1881 Census, but I can't find a death in this area for a Jane of the right age.

On the 1881 census, Jane Morse is living with her Son Dan, age 20 a Coal Miner, West Dean, and William her Grandson age 11, East Dean.

It has just occurred to me that she may have remarried?

This little chap was the grandson of Charles Morse and Jane Kear, but I haven't worked out who his parents were yet!

Thanks to Marilyn & Bertha. I think William probably was Mary Ann's child as I haven't been able to find him with any of the sons of Charles & Jane. You have finally found the skeleton in the cupboard!
