Hi - I,m new to using the site but wonder if you can help
Looking at the records for Welsh Bicknor it lists 347 burials between 1699 and 1959.. this eems a large number considering the number of gravestones...
Anyone any ideas?
Possibilites -
there is more than one church?
some burials wer at the chapel at Courtfield?

Many thanks - Nick

A few reasons:

It was common to have a number of people of the same family buried in the same grave.
Many never had a headstone as their family were too poor to have one made.
Many of the headstones would have deteriorated so badly that they would have either fallen down or have been removed.
