Quite an insight into living conditions in Cities around that time
This article also mentions John VEER formerly a Nailer, of 5 Bedminster, Causeway in 1837, changing his occupation to that of a Pattern Ring maker and moved to 9 Castle Street etc. etc.

It would seem the family moved to Bedminster, Somerset from Little Dean
John VEAR c1798 appears to also by the name of JAMES
Perhaps John VEARE christened Little Dean 19 April 1747, Son of William and Elizabeth also went by the names John/James and there isn't a marriage/death of a John VEAR in Littledean.

Many thanks for all the hard work you put into providing info. I did have some of it, as I said in the posting I was really hoping someone could give me something other than births, prior to them moving to Bristol.
Could you check out the Ambrose connection for me please, as I had found one, but have hime dying Sept 1807 as an infant. Looks like ther was more than one Vear family in Littledean about the same time.

If you look at the FOD records for Littledean
Ambrose VERE baptised 13 March 1803 - Littledean, parents James & Susanna
Ambrose VERE was buried 27 September 1807
James & Susanna named their next Son......
Ambrose VEARE, baptised 6 March 1808, in Littledean
A common practice to make sure the name carried on.
I cannot find Ambrose and his wife on any census after their marriages in Bristol
1841 was the first census to be taken.

Once again thanks very much for your help.
Census records show addresses, how about original baptism records in Littledean?
I would love to get an address of where the family lived before they moved to Bristol. Can you throw any light on this or point me in the right area of research?
Thanks

The baptism records are on this web site - even on census returns they often just went round the village as a whole without naming the cottage name (if it had one) etc just a // mark to show where a household started
An interesting site
