There are 24 images on Ancestry of William Clement Hall's WW1 Records - so I'll look through all of them.... there are quite a few date stamped pages on his service, some easier to read than others.

I think he started on in the 1st Battalion Bedfordshire No. 43883 and posted to the 3rd Glos Regiment 22 April 1918. Not used to looking at war records....

3rd Gloster Regiment Private No 51417

His home address: Viney Hill, Nr Lydney, Glos

Briefly, on the 11 December 1915 - he was 20 years and 6 months (Collier) married Gladys May YEMM Parish Church 6 August 1918. Next of Kin, William C HALL

He was 5' 3 and a half inch tall, and had a 37 inch girth..... weighed 132 lbs, hair and eyes both brown, he had a sallow complexion. Birthplace listed as Cwymtelliry (can't make out the County Bas...... Relig. C of E).

There is a Headed Letter from Wallsend Ltd, Colliery Proprietors of Coleford dated 1919 to
Major F B Pottinger

Dear Sir

The bearer, William HALL is the young man mentioned in my letter of the 8th instant, and also in your letter of the 11th. In my conversation with your Lieutenant on the 13th he promised to send him for a special trade test and with the mechanical skill he possesses I think he would be suitable either for the Air Force or the motor transport.
