My wife's ancestor was John Long Watkins, son of John & Mary and baptised in 1827.
Family lived in Longhope, Gloucestershire. Some of John L's siblings traveled to Australia;
he went to the US around 1850 (upstate, New York) where he took up agriculture and tree
& flower growing.
John Sr. died in 1837 and apparently John L was under the care of a local churchman in Longhope.
Any connections to this family would be most appreciated. pjsmith AT myfairpoint.net
