Richard Low Yeoman of Tidenham (General)
Hello,
I am tracing my Winterbourne, Gloucestershire Low(e) ancesters who may have moved down from the Forest of Dean area.
I trace back to a Richard Low who married a Rebecca Thomas around 1720 in Bristol but Richard Low's baptism is not in the Bristol or surrounding district regsiters (not found to date anyway) Richard possibly came from a family with money because he established himself as a feltmaker in Winterbourne and from his will was quite wealthy when he died in the 1770s.
I have found a family of Richard Low, Yeoman, in Tidenham around 1700, his sons and daughters were married in Tidenham except for Elizabeth but I can't find his baptism or marriage to Elizabeth ???. Richard died in 1715 in Tidenham and I have his will in which he left a fair anmount of land to his children. I believe he had a brother Henry who died in Tidenham in 1724.
Does anyone know whether Richard and Henry Low originated in the Forest of Dean area? Did Henry have any children?
