Is it possible to take a reference from the 1871 census of Newnham and pinpoint the house?
This is the reference, where in Newnham is "The Cottage"

In this case (approximately) yes, because it is enumerated next door to the "Railway Station" and Skin House, on Skin House Lane ( very topical for a tanner ! )

Thank you for the reply, I have tried to narrow your OS Maps co-ordinates and have arrived at the left hand end of Station Road, Newnham on the South East side of the railway line, the side closest to town.
On Google Maps (N51 48 28 W02 27 10), it looks like a yard or depot now and no surviving heritage building today.
