Home of Good Hope in Gloucester (General)

I am doing some family history, looking back to my dads grand mother on the 1891 census she is 6 in the 1901 census she disappears from the family house and turns up at the "home of good hope" in gloucester. My question is what was this home, the address is listed as "home of good hope gloucester" and that the ecclesiastical parish is St Mary de lode. Can some throw some light on it. I am guessing that it might be a home for young girls pregnant.
