I believe his parents were William Kear (born 1816, Blakeney) and Ann Phillips.

Thanks for your reply. I thought Ann as well - but since have discovered it was probably Elizabeth Hatton. They married 4 May 1840 at Newland.
I think William's grandfather was Thomas Kear and Harriett Griffiths who married 19 Feb 1816 at Newland.
I could be wrong of course - still feeling my way with this family...

I think you have two different William Kears here one married Anne Phillips who died in 1839 he then married Eliza James,his parents were George Kear and Mary Byett.
William Kear b1817 Blakeney did indeed marry Eliza Hatton his parents were Thomas Kear and Harriet Griffiths. Kelvin

I think your first one eg William Kear married Ann Phillips then Eliza James is the one I am looking for...
