James Edmund DOWLE and Edward DOWLE, Alyburton (General)

Could do with some help here please.

Am looking into the Dowles of Aylburton and Lydney and am getting confused by
a James Edward / James Edmund Dowle. Are they the same person?

Looking at the parish records:

James Edmund Dowle baptised in Lydney in 1875, son of Charles and Caroline Dowle. This bit I'm fine with.

Onto marriage records

James Edward Dowle marries Ellen Louisa Collier in 1895 when John was aged 20. His father is listed as Charles.

I believe Ellen died in 1901 aged 24 and that James remarried.

There is a marriage record for 1906 of James Edward Dowle marrying Hannah Jones. James' father is shown as Charles Dowle. James is 31 at the time of
this marraige.

Are James Edmund Dowle and James Edward Dowle the same person? The dates of birth all tie in and father's name.
