Just like my Grandad/Great Great Grandad & Great Great Uncle - from Blakeney, who went to work for the Great Western Railways in Swindon, but stayed there, what a contrast from the countryside - to working 'Inside' as we used to say, because of the high boundary walls that surrounded the Railway Works, (just like a big prison) - I know because that's where my worklife started, as a typist. We had to cover all our paper/typewriters etc every night, as they got covered in 'soot' from the engines passing by!!!
