I am a descendant of Ebenezer Trotter. His son Harry Trotter was my great grandfather. I am tracing Ebenezer's history as I am coming to The UK in September and wanted to see where he came from. Ebenezer came to Australia with his mother and father in 1852 to Geelong on The Mercurius. Ebenezer married Mary Elizabeth Dear in Geelong and had 11 or 12 children (not sure on one of them Ern?) They moved to a gold mining town called Steiglitz where they died and are buried there. Ebenezer's parents are not mentioned in the graveyard of Steiglitz (there are 2), so maybe they stayed in Geelong which is not very far from Steiglitz.
