Hello Janice

Was your Fred's father William by any chance. My grandfather had a brother called William Henry, born West Dean but lived in Chepstow. He was known as Uncle Bill Chepstow, or Uncle Bill Monmouth to the family.

Thanks

Thanks for replying Janice

I'm afraid I don't know. I was just curious given the Chepstow connection.

My grandfather was Leslie John Frowen b 1893, his brother William was born 1881 but settled in Chepstow when he married. Their father was Henry Frowen b 1854 and mother was Hannah Maria , late Bending, formerly Wright.

Not to worry, maybe we'll meet again along the line somewhere.

Thanks again

The 1851 image does look like Yarmouth , but I'd be happier with a BLANCH family from Newland ! like :-

Elizabeth BLANCH 1801

Thanks for that Slowhands- I'd be happier with this family too!! :)
I found the family in 1841, and that states 'y' for Elizabeth being born in the county.

I have son George's birth cert from 1841 and Elizabeth is definitely a Blanch-

Interestingly I have found that there is a member of Norfolk FHS who has a surname interest Blanch from GlS logged on the site. I have sent a message to see if I can find out more. Or maybe they are like me and stumped as to why Yarmouth in 1851!!!! Oh, the twists and turns.................

Sorry Janice, I seem to have hijacked your thread.
