Meek-welsh (Parish Records)
by Kimberleylear, Tuesday, October 14, 2014, 17:36 (3726 days ago)
I was wondering if someone could help me. My mothers maiden name was meek-welsh.
The family line so far goes :
WFDG meek-welsh (my grandfather)
2 - william james meek-welsh
3 - frederick william meek-welsh
We get to frederick meek-welsh and i get confused. i have his marriage certificate to Alberta Barnes. On the certificate, his fathers name is william welsh.
I then had a certificate given to me by my mothers cousin. It says frederick william, fathers name WILLIAM WHILS and mother MARY WHILS FORMERLY HADDOCK.
When i looked on here, i found the rbaptism which says william welsh
I need to know who his parents are to continue my research. I found a grave in Aylburton for a Mary meek-welsh beloved wife of william meek-welsh. The grave has possibly 2 other people buried there but i need to do a grave rubbing and in this weather, that isnt possible.
Can anyone help??
Kimberley

Hi Kimberley
To be honest, Welsh & Whils aren't that far apart. It could have been misread, misheard or misspelt!
Is this his baptism?
