Looking for Alice Cooper (Parish Records)
by Orville, Tuesday, October 28, 2014, 13:08 (3712 days ago)
Hello from Australia,
My great grandmother was born Alice Cooper. In her marriage certificate dated 1876 she said she was aged 22, was a spinster, her father was William Cooper deceased, and she married James Taylor Oliver at Sheffield.
In some later censuses she said she was born at "Forest of Dean" but I haven't been able to find from Ancestry.com or Familysearch.org (or anywhere else really) details of Alice Cooper having been born there or in a Census there.
Would you have any suggestions as to how I might find the missing information about her?
Regards
Glen Oliver

All census information is useful for forum members. Who were the witnesses at their wedding?

On the 1851 census, the COOPER family are in District 5b - New Road - and looking at Page 1, the Enumerator's route - this includes Viney Hill, so this is probably your Alice.

Also ? On the 1861 census, there is a Grandson, John - age 3 ???? do question whether this is George KEAR and Ann COOPER's offspring.
Trying to find George KEAR/Ann COOPER + siblings -on the 1871 and 1881 census etc
