Baldwin Family (General)
Hi, I am researching my Baldwin ancestors that came from Steam Mills, Drybrook, Ruardean, East Dean and Forest of Dean area in the 1800s to 1573. Has anyone got any information on the Baldwins?

? To save Contributors time, how far back do you go etc.
Men in Armour for Gloucestershire 1608
on the website
Coaley net - (under the Section Local History, is Men in Armour 1608)
Just search for BAL
as the surname has been spelt BALDWYNE, BALDWIN, BALWIN, BALDWYN, on Men in Armour
There is for PAUNTLEY (Newent)
Richard BALDWIN husbandman, servant to the said Sir Henry POOLE, Knight. A60 (age approx 60) - tallest stature
etc. etc.
There is also a link to : Interpretation of Results which shows Richard, being of tallest stature fit to make a Pikeman...
and on Forest of Dean Records : another variation BALDWING

Thank you for your reply. Ive found Baldwin ancestors in the area going back to Thomas Baldwin 1630-1671 from Ruardean Hill. How do I do a Baldwin search? Can I search a specific Baldwin like Thomas? Sorry, I am new to this site, I do not know how to use it to search. Is there instructions anywhere? Thank you very much for your assistance.

I never seem to be able to do the link to past posts...
If you use the Seach button - there are various posts which would be useful
One in 2006
Baldwin & Herbert families Ruardean Glos, which mentions Richard BALDWIN born 1731.
