Red Lion Inn Cinderford - Flaxley parish (General)
Red Lion, 44 Flaxley Street
The Red Lion Inn was situated in a quiet residential backwater just to the east of Cinderford town centre. It was first licensed in 1869. The annual rateable value of £18 in 1891 and 1903 reflect its status as a back street local. The pub has now been converted into residential usage. It is a sandstone and brick small terraced building and all the original doors and windows have since been replaced by double glazing. On the wall, however, is a filled in hole where a West Country Ales plaque was once located. It closed in the 1970's.
