Meek Family (General)
Hi!
I am researching my paternal family.
GrandFather: Charles Henry James Meek married Lilian (Lily) Bainbridge of Newcastle upon Tyne. He had a number of siblings in Monmouth. First child Beatrice born in Blackwood, Monmouth. Returned to Newcastle by 1909 and then to Stirling in Scotland. Returned to Newcastle WW1 before joining the Northumberland Fusiliers and he was killed in Belgium in 1917 age 34. He had a brother who killed about the same time in Belgium.
His father originated in Ruardean in about 1840's Beriah before moving with his family to Blackwood after marrying (I think). He also had a son Beriah along with siblings. His father, also Beriah eventually lived in Blackwood but appears to have been born in Ruardean in around 1820.
I know there are a number of Meek Families in East Dean and I wondered if they were related?
I would much appreciate any help if you have information on Beriah and his family(s).
Thanks
Margaret
