Hi Roughyedbach & Slowhands

I've been off line for over a week ISP problem - "Error 721". Just catching up but thought I would add to this debate.

Jessie Brain was the son of William Brain 1807 & Susannah Hayward 1822.
Jesssie was killed in a Mine accident –Details - Foxes Bridge Mine. Fall of roof at the face of the twenty inch vein from a slip which he was aware of and a joint which was not visible. The place seemed to been fairly well timbered. He died 2lst December 1897

William Brain 1807 had been married previously to Sophia Annis 1803/1843 who gave birth to Beata 1834. Susannah Hayward had also been married previously to James Harris. Their daughter Mary Ann Harris 1841 married William Brain 1838.
Absalom Grindle was the son of Joseph Grindle 1816 & Emily Brain. Emily Brain was the daughter of William Brain 1785 & Beata Beddis, the parents of William Brain 1807.........which was where we came in above, parents of Jessie.

It really is a stab in the dark I know but the
only info I have been able to obtain on Alom is
that he was married to Kate and had at least one
daughter. He lived to a ripe old age and was a
well known character in the Sun Inn.

There should be a connection to the Brain clan.,
and as such I have taken Alom from the Absalom on
my tree as the dates seem about right.

Another relative is busy digging out some photos
which may jog someones memory.
