After looking at the picture that possibly might be William Powell, I have to agree that their is a slight resemblence. To Mavis Haddock what are the lines that you are researching, I might be able to shed some light on whether or not we are possibly related or not. Please put a line n the forum with the names that you are researching in the Lydney & Aylburton area and I will check the forum over the next few days and try and response. Thanks.... Deb

Can I come in on this one. I have a Sarah Powell who married a William Cook in 1780 in Lydney (Died 1839 Alvington). I then descend from the Cook line. If this lady is in your family tree can you let me know. She is the only Powell I have found and haven't as yet been able to go back on that line. Bob

I am researching the Haddocks from Aylburton/Lydney area.
I know that Mary Ann Haddock b.1862 married James Powell b.1860.
I have several photos on a cd that were given to me and I would like to post them. I have been trying to contact the person who sent them to me as they have the originals. I feel that I should get their permision to post them first. I know some of the people in these photos and some I don't. They are from the Forest of Dean area and I am sure some will be recognised. The person who sent them to me has changed their e-mail address so I will have to find them first.

Bob,
I too have Sarah Powell married to William Cook in 1780 in Lydney and died in 1839 in Alvington. My 4th great-grandmother Elizabeth Cook was the daughter of William Cook and Sarah Powell. Unfortunely I have not been able to find any other information on Sarah Powell other than she had a daughter out of wed-lock, Anne Powell who was baptized on Jan-09-1774 in Saint Briavels, Gloucestershire, England.
I have been trying to find Anne Powell's marriage to a John Eattal (Eddell) with no luck. She is listed as being married to John Eddell in William Cook's will dated 1820 and I found her marriage in June-1836 to Daniel Shillam in Woolaston.
Due you have any information on Sarah Powell's daughter Anne Powell and her marriage to John Eddell?
I have not been able to find any other information on Sarah Powell and as of yet nor have I been able to tie her into any of my other POWELL families.

You mentioned that Mary Ann Haddock, b. 1862 marries James Powell, b. 1860. Do you have any information on their marriage, such as when or where.
Any information on James Powell & Mary Ann Haddock's children would also be helpful as well as any information on where they lived and died.
