My ggg-uncle was George Parsons, born 1817 England. He had a son John "Jack" Parsons born about 1844 England. I do not see an Amelia as his wife. He had a wife Mary, born in 1853 in Kansas. Oldest child born in 1873 in Kansas.

George is one of four Parsons brothers that settled in Jefferson County, Kansas in the late 1860s/early 1970s. One son, Henry James Parsons was born in 1848 in Stroud, according to family notes. George did have a wife named Rebecca, b 1836 England, so too young to be John's mother.

Other brothers: James Parsons b 1827 (my gg-grandfather), John Parsons b 1826, William b 1835, possible sister Rebecca Parsons 1829 England, or a widow of one the men.

Did they emigrate perhaps?

John Parsons bapt 1 Jan 1843 Drybrook son of George and Margaret Parsons.
At home with parents in Ruardean Hill on 1861 census.

Amelia Annetts born aprox 1841 daughter of George and Phoebe Annetts
At home in East Dean with parents on 1851 census. Servant in Cheltenham in 1861.

John and Amelia married at Cinderford St Johns on 18 Nov 1869
