Pete,

The Will names data on the Forest site comes from the Will books held at Glos Archives. In the early years after 1858 Wills and Letters of Administration (Admons) were recorded together, then in separate volumes for a few years before being recorded together again after about 1896 I think, the originals of both are held at the Probate Registry in London.

The Probate Office in Gloucester seems to have carried on making copies of Wills and Admons separately.

That's why some Admons are listed in the database. There may be some other reference to your John Robins at the Archives, otherwise the entry found on Ancestry will be your reference to order the Grant, though there is likely to be little more than the details you have already seen from Ancestry.

Yes that is my John, he and his brother William are found on a few inquests based in Aylburton.

John married Constance Powell and moved to Alvington.

Hi Pete,
I think you're correct, I cannot see him anywhere at all within the Wills section trying various searches.
The only vaguely ? relevant record I've found that might be him is a John Robins present as a Jury member at two Aylburton Parish Inquests, in 1897 and 1901 at the George Inn.

Is this person in the wills entries?, as I cannot seem to find him doing any surname or wildcard searches. Maybe the will did not qualify as Probate?, however it does mention Administration in the actual image on Ancestry,or it may of not have put his place of death down to indicate he was from the F.O.D
