The transcript is possibly correct. I've seen the mothers name being inserted in
a number of instances where the person was born illegitimate and the father was
unknown (or was being kept secret).

It would seem an odd transcription error :-)

... I have seen what appear to be mistakes in the original registers, and the transcription only attempts to list what was in the original, so someone needs to go back to the original source and confirm what was written, it may have been Charlotte in the records !

Mary Anne Baldwin marriage

On the parish records which have been posted there is a marriage of Joseph roberts and Mary Anne Baldwin on June 30, 1877 at Drybrook. All the information would seem to fit my grabmothers sister except the father of the bride is listed as Charlotte Baldwin. Is it possible that someone along the line made an error in transcription? I am looking for a daughter of a Cornelius Baldwin and Charlotte seems an odd male name.
